In 2016, I experienced a life-altering loss—my younger brother passed away before he had the chance to fulfill his dream of living a quiet life abroad in Spain. His passing was a wake-up call, a reminder that waiting for the “right time” can mean missing the only time we have.
That summer, I made a decision that changed everything. I took my mother on a journey to Michigan to visit her father’s grave—a promise made by my father decades ago that had never been fulfilled. That trip was more than just travel. It was an act of healing, connection, and honoring what matters most.
Painting became my sanctuary during that season of grief. With each brushstroke, I found moments of peace, stillness, and restoration. But it was the act of traveling—of saying yes to the present—that freed me from the illusion that dreams must be postponed.
Today, my art is deeply rooted in these truths. My work reflects a reverence for quiet beauty, emotional depth, and the fleeting nature of time. Whether inspired by the colors of a new place or the memory of a loved one, my paintings are invitations to pause, reflect, and reconnect—with yourself, your dreams, and the now.
Through my art, I hope to remind others—just as I was reminded—that we don’t have to wait to live a meaningful life. We can begin exactly where we are.
